What does PEC mean?
PEC stands for Posta Elettronica Certificata. The service documents sending and delivery of messages exchanged between certified mailboxes. Important correspondence can travel electronically with traceable receipts.
Both parties need a PEC address for a fully certified exchange. An ordinary email mailbox does not offer this function.
Two receipts. A documented journey.
An acceptance receipt follows acceptance of the message. A delivery receipt follows delivery to the recipient’s PEC mailbox. A delivery problem generates a corresponding notification.
Keep the relevant messages and receipts. Delivery does not automatically mean the recipient has read the message.
For business, professional and personal matters.
PEC is often used for formal correspondence with businesses, professionals and public authorities. Private individuals can also use it. Any legal obligation depends on your particular circumstances.
PEC works alongside your ordinary email address. You do not need to replace your existing mailbox.
